Worcestershire Parkway, now known as Wychavon Town, is a proposed new housing led community of 10,000 homes, to be developed around a new town centre with connected neighbourhoods, a network of green infrastructure and new leisure and educational provision all located around the Worcestershire Parkway Railway Station. Worcestershire Parkway was announced by the Chancellor in August 2024 as one of the Government’s first 4 ‘accelerator’ sites. The New Homes Accelerator is a collaboration between the Government, Homes England, the Greater London Authority, local authorities, developers and other key stakeholders which aims to unblock and accelerate the delivery of
housing developments.
Thomas Lister has been involved in the project at Worcestershire Parkway over several years. We have successfully acquired two strategic parcels of land on behalf of Homes England, as follows:
The acquisitions required the production of comprehensive Red Book Valuations to support the process as well as ongoing client support with regard to the governance and contracting process.
Separately, Thomas Lister have advised Homes England in relation to a number of other property and commercial matters that are required to be resolved in order to unlock this strategically important development site.
Successful acquisition of over 44ha of land that will deliver c. 1200 residential dwellings as well as part of the proposed new town centre, which is a critical element to the delivery of the wider scheme and requires public sector intervention. In addition, Thomas Lister are currently engaging with Homes England on an ongoing basis to provide strategic commercial advice for the delivery of the scheme.
