Thomas Lister were commissioned by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to review a portfolio of stalled and derelict sites across the Borough and to provide recommendations and optioneering to outline how site might be brought forward for delivery. The commission involved Thomas Lister leading a multi-disciplinary team involving architects, cost consultants and legal advice.
The commission was focussed on a number of complex and challenging sites that had been identified by the Council as being stalled or derelict and requiring likely public sector intervention in order to bring forward for, primarily, residential development. The project involved the following key stages:
The work culminated in the production of an optioneering report for each of the identified sites. Site pro-forma’s were prepared for each site that captured key site information including description, constraints, a summary of the viability position and a recommended route to bringing the site forward for delivery. Since the production of the report, a number of sites have now been brought forward by DMBC and are providing a further pipeline of residential development for the Borough.
